        The Assembly met at 10 A.M. The day was devoted for transaction of Government Business.

1.    QUESTIONS 

        Starred question Nos.22 to 26 and Unstarred question Nos.16 to 20 with Supplementaries thereto were replied within 20 minutes.

2.    REPORT OF THE BUSINESS ADVISORY COMMITTEE 

        The Speaker reported to the House the  decision of the Business Advisory Committee which was held on the 26th Sept. 1970 and who fixed 1st October, 1970 for transaction of Government Business instead of Private Members Business and if time would be available after the Government Business in that case Private Members Business would be taken up. The Committee after examining the remaining Business of the House also decided that the Assembly should be prorogued after conclusion of all the business on the 5th Oct. 1970. The Report of the Committee was accepted by the House. 

3.    VOTING OF DEMANDS FOR GRANTS 

        The following demands were moved by the respective Ministers and passed without  any discussion :-

        The Cut Motions moved by Shri Akramozzaman, M.L.A., to the Grant No.29.(31-Agriculture ) and Grant No.24 ( "28-Education" ) were discussed but after hearing the respective Ministers the Cut Motions were withdrawn by the Mover.

4.    THE MEGHALAYA APPROPRIATION ( NO.1 ) BILL, 1970

        Thereafter the Minister of Finance introduced the Meghalaya Appropriation ( No. 1 ) Bill, 1970 and moved for consideration and passing. When the Minister moved the motion of passing the Bill, as many as seven hon. Members and the Chief Minister took part in the discussion. The Minister of Finance then replied to the various points raised. After the discussion, the Bill was passed by voice-vote.

5.    ADJOURNMENT

        The House was then adjourned at 4.45 P.M., to meet again at 10 A.M. on Wednesday, the 30th Sept. 1970.
