        The Assembly met at 10 A.M. The day was devoted for transaction of Private Members Business.

QUESTIONS :

        Starred Questions Nos.4 to 5 with supplementaries were disposed of in 12 minutes time. Unstarred questions Nos.10 to 15 with answers were laid in the tables. There were supplementaries to some of these questions.

MOTION UNDER RULE 131 OF THE ASSEMBLY RULES.

        Shri Johndeng Pohrmen moved the following motion :

        " That this House do now discuss the problem connected with the influx of East Pakistan evacuees in Meghalaya".

        Shri Johndeng Pohrmen requested the Speaker to expunge some expressions from the proceedings referred by him while initiating the discussion relating to destruction of betelnut, oranges and pineapple gardens and also of a church near the border by some Military. The Speaker gave his ruling and with the approval of the House, the expressions relating to the destruction of gardens and the church were to be expunged.    

        The Chief Minister then replied to the various points raised in the discussion and urged all the Members of the House to co-operate with the Government to solve the problem.

ADJOURNMENT :

        The House then adjourned at 5.17 P.M., till 10 A.M. on Wednesday, the 24th June, 1971.
