BULLETIN NO. 4.

        The Assembly met at 10 A.M. The day was devoted for the transaction of Government Business.

QUESTIONS :

        Starred questions Nos.5, 6, & 7 with few supplementaries in each case were replied to. Answers to Unstarred Questions Nos. 4 to 25 were laid on the tables. There was no supplementary to any of the Unstarred Questions.

DISCUSSION ON CHARGED DEMAND :

        There was no discussion on the Supplementary Statement of Expenditure and Supplementary Appropriation charged on the Consolidated Fund of the State for 1971-72.

VOTING ON SUPPLEMENTARY DEMANDS FOR GRANTS AND SUPPLEMENTARY APPROPRIATION FOR 1971-72.

        The House then took up voting on Supplementary Demands for Grants and Supplementary Appropriation for 1971-72.

        There was three Cut Motions in respect of Demand Nos.2, 6 and 8. The Cut Motions were discussed but withdrawn after hearing from the Ministers concerned. The Supplementary Demand Nos.1 to 8 were then passed.

THE MEGHALAYA APPROPRIATION ( NO. III ) BILL, 1971.

        The Finance Minister introduced the Meghalaya Appropriation ( No. III ) Bill, 1971. Thereafter the Motions for consideration and passing were adopted one after another and the Bill was voted by the House.

VALEDICTORY SPEECHES :

        At the end of the Business the Speaker thanked  the Leader of the House and his Cabinet colleagues and the Leader of the Opposition and all Members of the House for their kind co-operation shown to him while discharging his duties as Speaker.

        The Chief Minister also thanked the Speaker for kind words spoken to him and to the others. At the end Mr. Akramozzaman, Leader of the Opposition Group also spoke.

ADJOURNMENT. SINE-DIE :

        The Assembly was then adjourned sine-die at 12.2 P.M.
