        The Assembly met at 9 A.M. The day was devoted for transaction of Government Business.

QUESTIONS :

        Starred Question Nos. 8 and 9 were not put and answered as the hon. Questioners were absent. Starred Question No.10 was replied. Unstarred Question Nos.6, 7 and 8 with answers were laid in the tables of the Hon. Members.

CALLING ATTENTION NOTICE UNDER RULE 54 :

        Prof. Martin Narayan Majaw, M.L.A., called the attention of the Chief Minister under Rule 54 to a news item published in the 'Democratic Review' of 16th June, 1972 under the caption, "Retrenched personnel's of Relief and Rehabilitation Department of Meghalaya facing acute hardship", to which the Chief Minister made a statement.

BILLS INTRODUCED :

        The Meghalaya Transfer of Land (Regulation) (Amendment) Bill, 1972 was introduced by the Minister of Revenue.

GENERAL DISCUSSION ON BUDGET :

        The General discussion on the budget was then resumed. The following Hon. Members took part in today's discussion :-
