Bulletin No. 4.

Thursday, the 30th November, 1972.

        The Assembly met at 10 A.M. The day was devoted for transaction of Government Business.

QUESTIONS :

        Unstarred Questions N.4 to 7 with answers were laid in the tables of the House. There were few supplementaries, to which the Ministers concerned replied.

CALLING ATTENTION NOTICE :

        Calling attention notice given jointly by Shri D.D. Lapang, M.L.A., and Shri Dlosingh Lyngdoh, M.L.A. relating to the sad incident occurred on the 27th November, 1972 when a State Transport Bus collided with a jeep at Nayabungalow (Umsning) causing death to five persons and injury to five others was then taken up.

        Shri D.D. Lapang, M.L.A., stood up and called the  attention of the Minister of Transport. The Minister of Transport then made a statement to the notice.

PRIVATE MEMBERS' MOTION :

        The Motion No.3 standing in the name of Shri Upstar Kharbuli who wanted to raise a discussion about the difficulties faced by the local labourers in procuring jobs due to influx of outside labourers, was then  taken up. Shri Kharbuli moved his motion.

        The Minister incharge of Labour, Mr. Sandford Marak then replied to the discussion. In the way of clarification of certain points raised in the discussion, Mr. S.D.D. Nichols Roy, Minister incharge Industries intervened in the discussion.

        The discussion was then closed.

        Prof. M.N. Majaw then moved Motion No.4 standing in his names on the subject of removal of monopoly control and nationalisation over the Gauhati-Shillong Road for the purpose of goods.

STATEMENT BY THE CHIEF MINISTER UNDER RULE 55 :

        The Chief Minister with the permission of the Speaker made a statement relating to the Hill University Bill, now in the Parliament.
