SATURDAY, DECEMBER 7, 1974
The House met at 9 A.M. with the Hon' ble Speaker on the Chair.
The day was devoted for transaction of Private Members' Business.
1. Motion No.1 of the balloted list of Motions, standing in the name of Shri H.S. Lyngdoh was not taken up as the hon'ble Member was found absent at the time when his name was called out by the Hon' ble Speaker.
2. Shri Y. Fuller Lyngdoh ( HSPDP) moved his Motion (No. 2) and put forth his reasoning to justify the need for opening a Police Outpost at Nongkhlaw in the Khasi Hills District. The Chief Minister replied adequate to all the points raised during the discussion, after which, the discussion on the Motion was closed.
3. Shri Rowell Lyngdoh ( HSPDP ) moved his Motion ( No.3 ) regarding the acute scarcity of foodstuff in certain areas of the State. He appraised the House with his version about the prevalence of scarcity conditions verging on near starvation in certain areas of Meghalaya.
A lively discussion ensued where in the following hon'ble Members participated either for or against the Motion:

Shri B.B. Lyngdoh, Minister for Parliamentary Affairs etc., on behalf of the Minister in charge of Supply who was to reply to the debate, request the Chair to defer the matter will the next available day, since the Minister concerned was not available for winding up the debate and since the time was almost up.
The Deputy Speaker, therefore, adjourned the House at 12.50 P.M. till 9 A.M. on Monday, the 9th December, 1974.
