WEDNESDAY, THE 19TH JUNE, 1974

        The Assembly met at 9 A.M. The day was devoted for transaction of Government Business.

1. QUESTIONS :

        Starred Question No.3 and Unstarred Questions Nos.14, 15, 16 and 17 were replied to.

2. VOTING ON DEMANDS FOR GRANTS:

        Grants Nos.1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 were passed today.

        Against Grant No.4 there was one cut motion which stood in the name of Shri S.N. Koch, M.L.A. Shri Maham Singh, M.L.A. supported the cut motion, and on the other hand Shri J. Syiem, M.L.A. and Shri H. Hadem, M.L.A. opposed the cut motion. The Hon. Minister incharge, Shri B.B. Lyngdoh replied to the various points raised by the Hon. mover who moved the cut motion. On being satisfied with the reply Shri S.N. Koch later on withdrew his cut motion.

        There was another cut motion against Grant No.6 which stood in the name of Shri S.D. Khongwir, M.L.A, Shri Maham Singh, M.L.A., Shri R. Mawsor, M.L.A., Shri S.N. Koch, M.L.A. and Shri H.E. Poshna, on the other hand Shri D.D. Lapang, M.L.A. and Prof. A.Warjri, M.L.A. opposed the cut motion. Shri S.D. Khongwir, M.L.A. then later withdrew his cut motion.

        Grant No.8 was also moved. Against this Grant, a cut motion which stood in the name of Shri D.N. Joshi was moved. discussion on this cut motion would be continued again on Friday, the 21st June, 1974. The following members participated in today's discussion on the above cut motion. Shri S.N. Koch, M.L.A., Shri Rowell Lyngdoh, M.L.A., Shri H.E. Poshna, M.L.A., and Prof. M.N. Majaw, M.L.A. supported, the cut motion of Shri D.N. Joshi, whereas Shri Plansingh Marak, M.L.A., Shri Reidson Momin, M.L.A. and Shri J. Syiem, M.L.A. opposed the cut motion . Shri J. Syiem, M.L.A. had not completed his speech.

ADJOURNMENT :

        The House was then adjourned at 1 P.M. to meet again on Friday, the 21st June, 1974 at 9 A.M.
