BUDGET SESSION : 1975

BULLETIN NO.5.

TUESDAY, MARCH 11, 1975.

        The Assembly met at 9 A.M. with the Speaker in the Chair.

1.    QUESTIONS

        Unstarred Questions Nos.6, 8, 9 and 11 with supplementaries thereto were disposed of . Replies to Unstarred Questions Nos.5, 7 and 10 were laid on the Members' table.

2.    DEBATE ON GOVERNOR'S ADDRESS

        Shri F.K. Mawlot, (HSPDP) resumed the discussion on the Governor's  Address and spoke at length on various matters in support of the Amendment to the Motion of Thanks.

        Shri P.N. Choudhury, (CONG) also participated in today's deliberations and made his submission on a number of social and economic issues for consideration of the Government.

        The following Ministers also participated in the debate by way of making clarification on various points raised during the debate on the Governor's Address relating to their Department.

        1. Shri S.D.D.Nichols Roy, Minister, Industry, etc.,

        2. Shri E. Bareh, Minister, Agriculture etc.,

        3. Shri P. Ripple Kyndiah, Minister, Municipal Administration etc.,

        4. Shri S.K. Marak, Minister, Health etc.,

        5. Shri D.D. Pugh, Minister, Transport etc., and

        6. Shri P.C. Marbaniang, Minister of State for Education etc.

        The Speaker adjourned the House at 11.26 hours till 12.00 noon, to enable the Members to have a short rest before the Chief Minister replied to the debate. The House reassembled at 12 noon and the Chief Minister took the floor and began his speech in reply to the debate on Governor's Address. He adequately dealt with the various points raised by the Members during the debate on the Motion of Thanks and wound up the debate by appealing for co-operation of all concerned for the successful implementation of various plans and programmes embarked upon by the Government for the larger benefit  of the people.

        The two amendments to the Motion of Thanks tabled by Shri H.E. Poshna, (CONG) and Shri M.N. Majaw ( HSPDP) were withdrawn by leave of the House.

        Thereafter, the Motion of Thanks to the Governor's Address was adopted by the House unanimously.

ADJOURNMENT

        The House stood adjourned at 13.37 hours till 0900 hours on Wednesday, March 12, 1975.
