        The Assembly met at 9 A.M. with the Speaker in the Chair.

1.    QUESTIONS

        Starred Question No.4 with supplementaries thereto was disposed of.

        Unstarred Questions Nos.70, 71, 72, 73, 75, 76, 68, 80, 82 and 86 with supplementaries thereto were disposed of. Answers to Unstarred Questions Nos. 69, 74, 77, 79, 81, 83, 84 and 85 were laid on the Members' table.

        The Chair asked the Leader of the House to elucidate the reply to Unstarred Question No.71(c) in the floor of the House on 22nd March, 1975.

        The Speaker directed that a copy of all statements laid on the Table of the House arising out of replies to questions should also be made available to the Chair.

VOTING ON DEMANDS FOR GRANTS

        The House passed Grants Nos.1 to 5.

        Grants Nos.1 and 2 were passed without any discussion. The Cut Motions in respect of Grants Nos.3 and 5 were moved but were withdrawn after due clarification from the concerned Ministers.

        The two Cut Motions in respect of Grant No.4 were not moved as the hon. Members in whose names the Cut Motion stood were found absent.

        Grant No.6 was moved as also the Cut Motions in respect of this Grant. As time was already up further discussion on this Grant was deferred till the 22nd March.

MISCELLANEOUS :

        The Speaker made a reference to the reported incident at Allahabad High Court premises on the 18th March, 1975 when an attempt on the life of the Prime Minister, Mrs. Indira Gandhi, was made. He said that in deference to the majesty of law she came to make her deposition before the said High Court in connection with the election case brought  against her. The Speaker also referred to another incident in Delhi on the 20th March, 1975 when a murderous attempt was made by some miscreants on the life of the Hon' ble Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. The Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, Shri B.B. Lyngdoh; the Leader of the Opposition, Shri Maham Singh and the Leader of the HSPDP group, Shri H.S. Lyngdoh, all expressed their sense of great shock and deep concern at these dastardly actions.

        The House unanimously expressed shock and concern at the unfortunate incidents, condemned in the strongest term these anti-social and anti-democratic actions and requested the Speaker to communicate its reaction to the Prime Minister and also to the Chief Justice.

ADJOURNMENT

        The House was adjourned at 11.45 A.M. till 9 A.M. on Saturday, the 22nd March, 1975.
