The Assembly met at 9 A.M. with the Speaker in the Chair.
Unstarred Questions No.1 7 No.2 with supplementaries thereto were disposed of.
Shri S.D.D.Nichols Roy, Minister, Industries, presented the Supplementary Demands for Grants and Supplementary Appropriation, 1975-76 on behalf of the Minister, Finance.
Shri S.P.Swer (APHLC), initiated the discussion on the Motion of Thanks to the Governor's Address which he moved on March 10, 1976, he was followed by the seconder of the Motion, Shri M. Reidson Momin (APHLC), who also lent support to the Motion.
Shri H.E. Poshna (CONG), moved the following amendment to the motion and spoke at length on matters referred to in his amendment:
|" but regrets that the Governor's Address has failed to mention the 12 measures on prohibition, the steps taken by Government for the establishment of a medical College and Agriculture College in the State, the election to the Shillong Municipality, involvement of Meghalayans in the various industrial developments, plan grazing reserve and the achievements so far made in respect of the implementation of the 20-point Economic Programme"|
