Thursday, March 18, 1976

        The Assembly met at 9.30 A.M. with the Speaker in the Chair.

1. QUESTIONS:

        Unstarred Questions No.15-16 and No.21 with supplementaries thereto were disposed of. Replies to Unstarred Question No.14, No.17-20 were laid on the Members' Table.

2. DEBATE ON GOVERNOR'S ADDRESS

        The Hon' ble Speaker announced that before the Chief Minister took the floor to reply to hte debate on the Governor's Address individual Minister who wanted to intervene and reply to the various points regarding policy matters and other matters of general public importance which were raised by the participants in the debate might do so, and accordingly the following Ministers spoke on matters relating to each of other Departments :- 

1. Shri S.D.D.Nichols- Roy, Minister, Industries, Powers etc.;
2. Shri E. Bareh, Minister, Excise, Agriculture, etc;
3. Shri S.K. Marak, Minister, Health, PHE etc.;
4. Shri D.D. Pugh, Minister, Transport, District Council Affairs etc.; and
5. Shri P.R. Kyndiah, Minister, P.W.D., Co-operation, etc.

        The House was adjourned at 11.18 for a gratitude to the members of the House for their keen interest in the debate and replied at length to the various points raised by the Members during the debate. Summing up he informed the House that the State Govt. was fully determined to implement various plans and programmes formulated by the Govt. of India after the proclamation of emergency. He also informed the House that  Government was alive to the diverse problems facing the people of the State at large and assured the members that all constructive and practical suggestions put forward by them would be duly considered by the Government.

        The amendment to the Motion of Thanks tabled by Shri H.E. Poshna (CONG) was deemed to have been withdrawn as the Mover was absent from the House when the question was to be put. The Motion of Thanks moved by Shri S.P. Swer (APHLC) and duly seconded by Shri M.Reidson Momin (APHLC) was, therefore, put as a question before the House and was adopted unanimously.

3. ADJOURNMENT

        The House was adjourned at 1.28 P.M. by the Speaker to meet again at 9.30 A.M. on Friday, March 19, 1976.
