The Assembly met at 9.30 A.M. with the Speaker in the Chair.
(i) Unstarred Questions Nos.105 to 110, 113, 114 and 116 to 120 with supplementaries thereto were disposed of. Printed replies to Unstarred Questions Nos.111, 112 and 115 were also furnished to the members.
(ii) The Chief Minister made a short statement correcting his earlier reply to supplementary arising out of answer to Unstarred question No.87 on June 11, 1977.
The House passed Grants Nos.36 to 114. There was no Cut Motion on Grants Nos.37, 39, 40, 42, 44 to 46, 48, 51 and 53 to 55. All the Cut Motions in respect of Grants Nos.56, 56A, 57, 59, 1, 62, 65, 67, 68, 69, 70, 75, 77, 80, 89, 104 and 112 were guillotined.
Cut Motion No.1 ( as clubbed with No.2 ) in respect of Grant No.36 and Cut Motion No.2 on Grant No.41 were withdrawn after reply from the Ministers concerned, while Cut Motion No.2 on grant No.38 moved by Shri R. Lyngdoh was deemed to have been withdrawn owing to the absence of the mover at the time when the question was put. Cut Motion No.1 and 3 on Grant No.38, Cut Motion No.1 on Grant No.41, the only cut Motion on Grant No.43, Cut Motion No.2 & 4 on Grant No.47, Cut Motion No.2 & 3 on Grant No.49, the only Cut Motion on Grant No.50 and Cut Motions Nos.1 & 2 on Grant No.52 were not moved, while Cut Motions Nos.1 and 3 on Grant No.47 and Cut Motion No.1 on Grant No.49 were ruled out of order.
The House passed the Meghalaya Appropriation (No. II) Bill, 1977, in respect of the Budget Grants for 1977-78 inclusive of the vote on account passed earlier in March, 1977.
Earlier Shri M.N. Majaw raised a number of points with regard to Grant No.27 and amounts collected under Arms Act to which the Chief Minister made a statement clarifying the points.
The House was adjourned at 1402 hrs. to meet again at 0930 hrs. on Tuesday, June 14, 1977.
