        The Assembly met at 9.30 A.M. with the Speaker in the Chair.

1.    QUESTIONS :

        Starred question No.20 and Unstarred questions Nos.194 to 197 were disposed of with supplementaries.

2.    ZERO HOUR :

        Shri. J.D. Pohrmen reported that a number of non-tribals from outside the State and a few suspected foreign nationals had taken shelter in the Sweepers' Colony near Mawlonghat, Shillong.

        The Chief Minister, Shri. B.B. Lyngdoh, informed the House that due investigation had been caused into the matter, after which it transpired that about 57 non-tribals, mostly from Andhra Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh, who were carrying on petty evocations were temporarily camping in the area.

3.    INTRODUCTION OF BILL :

        The Minister for Agriculture, Shri. P.G. Momin, introduced the Meghalaya Agricultural Produce Market Bill, 1980.

        The Motion for reference to this Bill to a Select Committee was deferred with a later date.

4.    VOTING ON DEMANDS FOR GRANTS :

        The House passed grants Nos.14 and 15.

        The Cut Motions on grant No.12 were deemed to have been withdrawn after the reply of the Minister concerned as the movers were found absent at the time when the question was to be put.

        Cut Motion No.1 against grant No.16 was ruled out of order as this Cut Motion sought to raise two different issues, while Cut Motion No.2 was not moved.

        Discussion of Cut Motion No.3 was postponed for want of time.

        ADJOURNMENT :

        The House stood adjourned till 9.30 A.M. on Monday, April 14, 1980.
