The Assembly mat at 10 A.M. with the Speaker in the Chair.

Shri J.D. Pohrmen reported to the House that a severe hail storm on March 1, 1981 caused extensive damage to pan-leaf, betel and orange plants in Nongtalang and Padu areas and wanted Government to take effective measures to extend relief to the affected people.
The Minister incharge of Revenue, Shri D.D. Lapang, informed the House that a detailed report on the incident had been called for, after which Government would examine the question of granting relief to the people.
The Speaker informed that House that he had received a notice of adjournment of the business of the House by U Martin N. Majaw to discuss the situation arising out of the hail-storm in villages of Mawlong, Laitkynsew, Tyrna, Mustoh, Shella, Wahlong etc. on March 1, 1981.
The Chair indicated that the notice was purported to focus attention of the House on an identical issue disposed of during the Zero Hour, which the Government had taken due note of. The Chair, therefore, held that the notice was infructuous and hence ruled it as out of order.
