        The Assembly met at 10 A.M. with the Deputy Speaker in the Chair.

1. QUESTIONS :

        Starred question No.1 and unstarred questions Nos.1-11 were disposed of.

2. DEBATE ON GOVERNOR'S ADDRESS :

        Shri Snomick Kalwing initiated the discussion on the Governor's Address. He touched on a number of subjects referred to in the address and sought Government's immediate intervention particularly in solving the border issue with Assam, prevention of wanton destruction of forests, total stoppage to the export of timber outside the State, provision of alternative means to replace jhumming in stages and construction of roads to connect the areas along the Assam border with the district headquarters.

        The following members also participated and dealt with wide range of subjects which were either mentioned in the address or incidental thereto :-

(i) Shri Mozibar Rahman,
(ii) Shri Rowell Lyngdoh,
(iii) Shri Jackman Marak,
(iv) Shri D.N. Joshi.

ADJOURNMENT :

        As no more members were willing to participate, the House was adjourned at 1:50 P.M. till 10 A.M. on Thursday, March 18, 1982.
