BUDGET SESSION 1982

        The Assembly met at 10 A.M. with the Deputy Speaker in the Chair.

1. QUESTIONS :

        Starred questions Nos.9-13 and unstarred questions Nos.58 and 59 were disposed of.

2. NOTICE OF ADJOURNMENT MOTION :

        The Deputy Speaker announced that she had received a notice of adjournment motion by U M.N. Majaw to discuss a certain matter relating to the Department of Civil Supplies.

        The Minister for Civil Supplies, Shri Maham Singh, agreed to make a statement on this subject at convenient time the next day.

        The Deputy Speaker reserved her ruling on the admissibility of the adjournment motion till the next day.

3. REPLY TO DEBATE ON THE GOVERNOR'S ADDRESS :

        The Chief Minister, Shri Williamson A. Sangma, thanked the various participants in the debate on Governor's Address for their interest in the affairs of the State and the numerous problems confronting the Government. He replied adequately to the points raised by the members from both sides of the House during the debate.

        The motion of thanks was thereafter adopted unanimously.

4. PRESENTATION OF BUDGET :

        The Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Finance, Shri S.D. Khongwir, presented the Budget estimates for the year 1982-83.

 5. PRESENTATION OF VOTE ON ACCOUNT :

        The Deputy Chief Minister presented the Vote-on-Account for 1982-83 and moved a motion for the withdrawal of the amount of Rs.35,92,03,000 to enable the Government to defray various charges by different Departments during the first quarter of the financial year 1982-83.

ADJOURNMENT :

        As there was no more business to be transacted, the House rose at 12:52 P.M. and stood adjourned till 10 A.M. on Thursday, March 25, 1982.
