The Assembly met at 10 a.m. with the Hon'ble Speaker in the Chair. The day was devoted for the transaction of Government business.
The Governor of Meghalaya was ushered in with dignity and honour by the sounding of a National Anthem by the M.L.P., contingents. He began his address at 10.05 a.m. and concluded at 10.45 a.m.
Shri D.N. Joshi moved a motion of thanks to the Governor's address. It was seconded by Shri Ton Singh W. Marak.
The House was adjourned for a tea party till 12 noon.

The House re-assembled at 12 noon with the Hon'ble Speaker in the Chair to dispose of the remaining business.
The Speaker announced the report of the Business Advisory Committee.
Shri J.D. Pohrmen, Minister in-charge Parliamentary Affairs moved a motion seeking the approval of the House on the allocation of business by the Business Advisory Committee.
( The motion was adopted and the calendar approved )
The Speaker nominated the following members to the panel of chairmen for the current session :-
(1) Shri D.N. Joshi.
(2) Shri G.S. Massar.
(3) Shri Tonsingh W. Marak.
(4) Shri A.H. Scott Lyngdoh.
Shri Sujit Sangma, Minister in-charge Power laid the Statement of Accounts of M.S.E.B. for 1987-88.
Shri J.D. Pohrmen, Minister in-charge Finance presented the Supplementary Demands for Grants for 1993-94.
The Chief Minister, initiated the obituary reference to the passing away of late Shri Chinmanbhai Patel, Chief Minister of Gujarat. Others who participated were :-
(1) Shri B.B. Lyngdoh.
(2) Shri J.D. Rymbai, Speaker, Meghalaya Legislative Assembly.
( The House observed two minutes silence as a mark of respect to the departed soul )
The House rose at 12.15 and stood adjourned till 10 a.m. on Friday, the 18th March, 1994.
