The House met at 10 a.m. the Hon. Speaker in the chair. The day was devoted for the transaction of Government Business.
Shri S.R. Moksha, called the attention of the Minister incharge Revenue to a news-item published in the local weekly 'U Peitngor' dated 17.3.94 under the caption 'Liem Khyndai phew hynniew tylli ki ing' ha Nongpoh. "Ninety seven houses damaged".
Shri R. Lyngdoh Minister incharge Revenue, apprised the Hon. Member that immediate relief were distributed to the twelve worse affected families at the rate of Rs.416.99p per family and that the Government has sanctioned Rs. one lakh in advance in favour of the D.C. Ribhoi District from the Calamity Relief Fund dated 10th March, 1994.
Shri Beckstar Sangma initiated the debate on Governor's Address. Others who spoke in favour against were ( 1 ) Shri .S. Nongrum (2) Dr. Donkupar Roy Lyngdoh (3) Shri. Adolf-Lu R. Hitler, (4) Shri. S.R. Moksha and (5) Shri. E.K. Mawlong.
( The House was adjourned for an hour at 12 noon to enable the Chief Minister to prepare his reply )

The House re-assembled at 1 p.m. with the Hon. Speaker in the chair
The Chief Minister winded up his reply by touching almost all the points raised by various members. He assured the House that the valuable suggestions and criticism have been properly noted down for implementation by the Government.
( The sitting was extended until the Chief Minister completed his reply by the consent of the House).
The Chief Minister concluded his reply and the amendment to the motion of thanks was withdrawn by Shri. H.S. Lyngdoh with the leave of the House.
The motion of thanks to the Governor's address was as such, adopted by the House.
The House rose at 2 p.m. and stood adjourned till 10 a.m. on Tuesday the 29th March, 1994.
