FIRST SESSION OF THE SEVENTH ASSEMBLY, 2003

                    The Assembly met at 10 a. m with Shri H. S. Lyngdoh as Speaker Pro-tem in the Chair. The day was devoted for the transaction of Government Business :-

1.    LAYING OF NOTIFICATION :

                     The Secretary laid on the table of the House a copy of the Notification No.308/MEG/LA/2003 dated 4th March, 2003 of the Election Commission of India constituting the Seventh Meghalaya Legislative Assembly.

2.     ORDER OF THE GOVERNOR :

                      The  Secretary read out the order of the Governor appointing Shri H. S. Lyngdoh, MLA to be the Speaker Pro-tem under Clause (I) of Article 180 of the Constitution and also as the person before whom the newly elected members were to subscribe their oath or affirmation under Article 188 of the Constitution.

3.     TWO MINUTES SILENCE :

                      The House observed two minutes silence to mark the solemnity of the occasion.
