The House met at 10.00 am in the Auditorium of the Arts and Culture Complex, Rilbong, Shillong with the Hon'ble Speaker in the Chair. The day was devoted for the transaction of Government Business.
REPORT OF THE BUSINESS ADVISORY COMMITTEE :
In pursuance of Rule 230 of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly, the Hon'ble Speaker announced the Report of the Business Advisory Committee.
ALLOCATION OF TIME :
Shri R. G. Lyngdoh, Minister i/c Parliamentary Affairs moved
"That this House agrees to the allocation of time proposed by the Business Advisory Committee in regard to the various items of business for the current Session"
(The Motion was put to vote and adopted and the Calendar was approved)
PANEL OF CHAIRMEN :
In pursuance of Rule 9(1) of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly, the Hon'ble Speaker nominated the following Members to the panel of Chairmen for the Current Session :-

LAYING OF NOTIFICATION ALONG WITH EXTRACT FROM RIGHT TO INFORMATION ACT, 2005
Shri J. D. Rymbai, Chief Minister laid the Notification No. POL.155/2005/Pt/16 dated 29.9.2005 along with extract from the Right to Information Act, 2005.
PRESENTATION OF THE REPORT OF THE SELECT COMMITTEE :
Dr. Donkupar Roy, Deputy Chief Minister i/c Revenue & Chairman of the Select Committee presented the Report of Meghalaya Transfer of Land (Regulation), Amendment Bill, 2004.
PRESENTATION OF THE REPORTS OF PUBLIC UNDERTAKINGS COMMITTEE :
Shri T. N. Marak, Chairman of the Public Undertakings Committee presented the First and Second Reports of the Committee for the year 2004-2005.
PRESENTATION OF THE REPORT OF PETITIONS COMMITTEE :
Shri H. S. Lyngdoh, Chairman of the Petitions Committee presented the Report of the Committee for the period from January, 2005 to January, 2006.
OBITUARY REFERENCE :
The House mourned the death of :
1. Shri Bhrigu Phukan, former Asom Home Minister, General Secretary of the All Assam Students Union and (2) Shri Pramod Mahajan, former Parliamentary Affairs in the NDA Government and observed two minutes silence as a mark of respect to the departed souls.
The House rose at 10.30 am to meet again on Monday, the 26th June, 2006 at 10.00 am.
