GOVERNMENT  BUSINESS

1.    The Speaker to announce the Report of the Business Advisory Committee.

2.    Shri. D.N. Joshi, Minister, Parliamentary Affairs to move :-

    'That this Assembly agrees with the allocation of time proposed by the Business Advisory Committee in regard to the various items of Business for the Current Session."

3.    The Speaker to announce the names of the Members  nominated to the Panel of Chairman under Rule 9 (1).

4.    Shri. D.D. Lapang, Deputy Chief Minister and Minister, Industries to lay the Annual Report of M.C.C.L. for the year 1994-95.

5.    Shri. J.D. Rymbai, Minister, Public Works to lay the Annual Report of the Meghalaya Government Construction Corporation Ltd. for the year 1995-96.

6.    Shri. Tony Curtis Lyngdoh, Minister, Power to lay the Annual Administrative Reports of the Meghalaya State Electricity Board for the years 1990-91, 1991-92, 1992-93 and 1993-94.

7.    Shri. Sujit K. Sangma, Minister, Transport, to lay the Annual Accounts of the Meghalaya Transport Corporation for the year 1993-94.

8.    Shri. Tonsing N. Marak, Chairman, Committee on Petitions to present the Second Report of the Committee.

(a) Shri. A.H. Scott Lyngdoh, Minister, Revenue, to beg leave to introduce the Meghalaya Transfer of Land (Regulation) Amendment Bill, 1998;

(b) if leave be granted to introduce the Bill.

(a) Shri. D.N. Joshi, Minister, Labour to beg leave to introduce the Employees' State Insurance (Extension to the Tribal Areas of Meghalaya) Bill, 1998;

(b) if leave be granted to introduce the Bill.

(a)  Shri. Kitdor Syiem, Minister, Forest to beg leave to introduce the Meghalaya Regulation (Amendment) Bill, 1998;

(b) if leave be granted to introduce the Bill.

12.    Shri. D.N. Joshi, Minister, Parliamentary Affairs to move ;

     "Whereas all the Members (Sarvashree D.N. Joshi, Lotsing A. Sangma, K. Ch. Boro, O.N. Chyrmang and Mihsalan Suchiang) have ceased to be Members of the Committee on Public Accounts by virtue of their being appointed Ministers with effect from the date of their appointment as Ministers, this Assembly do elect another five members in accordance with Rule 242 (1) of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly to fill up the vacancies."

13.    Shri. S.C. Marak, Chairman, Committee on Estimates to move;

     "Whereas Sarbashree O.N. Chyrmang, Mukul Sangma, John Anthony Lyngdoh and Mihsalan Suchiang have ceased to be Members of the Committee, on Estimates by virtue of their being appointed Ministers with effect from the date of their appointments as Ministers, this Assembly do elect another four Members in accordance with Rule 244 (1) of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly to fill up the vacancies for the remaining term of the said Committee."

14.    Shri. Kulbert Ch. Momin, Chairman, Committee on Public Undertakings to move;

     "Whereas Sarvashree Martin M. Danggo, Brening A. Sangma, John Anthony Lyngdoh and O.N. Shrymang have ceased to be Members of the Committee on Public Undertakings by virtue of their being appointed Ministers with effect from the date of their appointment as Ministers, this Assembly do elect another four members in accordance with Rule 242-B (1) of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly to fill up the vacancies for the remaining term of the said committee."

      (The Secretary to notify the date, time and place for holding the election if necessary).
