(b) If the reply to (a) above is in the affirmative, what is the total amount of such cut-timber along with it's classification of species in cubic feet basis and on a District wise break-up?

(i) Species wise Quantification is under compilation, Sir.

Whether it is a fact that Government had constituted a One man enquiry Commission previously regarding the illegal felling of trees from the Chimabangsi/Dima State Forests reserve?

If the reply to (a) above is in the affirmative, the outcome of the Commission's report?

 

(b) The Report of the Commission the alleged large scale felling of trees in Chimabangsi and Dhima Reserve Forest of Garo Hills was received on 31.1.97 and after due examination the Govt. took certain decisions on the Report which were laid on the table of the House on 8th April, 1997.

The steps taken by the Government on the report of the Commission?

1. Will the Minister-in-charge, Education be pleased to state the various grants released to the Mendipathar (Deficit) College during financial years from 1985-1987.

 

The Deficit Non-recurring grants including salaries released by the Government to Mendipathar College during the financial year 1986-87 to 1996-97 are as follows :-

i) Non-recurring Grants = Rs.  2,44,805/-
    ii) Salary                       = Rs.92,07,011/-
                         Total        = Rs.94,51,816/-
