Ambulance Confiscated by the Police

(a) Whether it is a fact that the Department had seized the Ambulance of RBYF, Seng Samla Mawphlang and others NGO's?   (a) Yes, Sir.
 
 
(b) If so, the reasons of such act?   (b) The Ambulance were seized by the Police in connection with the Shillong Sadar P.S. Case No.90(5) 99 U/S 365 IPC.
 
 
(c) Under what Rules and Act can the Ambulance with Red Cross Mark can be confiscated by the Police?   (c) Under Section 102 CrPC.
 

Closure of the Office of Assistant Mechanical Engineer, Tura

(a) Whether the post of Assistant Mechanical Engineer for Tura has been abolished or transferred permanently to Shillong Head quarter during 1998?   (a) No, Sir, the transfer is purely on temporary basis.
 
 
(b) if the reply to (a) above is in the affirmative, whether Government proposed to close the Office of the Assistant Mechanical Engineer of Tura?   (b) Does not arise in view of reply at (a) above.
 
 

Incentives to Police Personnel

(a) Is there any incentive the Government proposes to give to the efficient Police personnel?   (a) Yes, Sir.
 
(b) If so, hoiw many such incentives have ben given?   (b) The incentives given are as follows :-
    1. Out of turn promotion to deserving State Police Personnel.
    2. Recognition of meritorious service by Awards, viz.
    (i) Indian Police medal.
    (ii) DG's commendation certificate.
    (iii) Cash award of Rs.5000/- each.
(c) If not, the reason for not having such incentives.   (c) Does not arise in view of 'a' & 'b' above.

Financial Gap

National Highway 51

Financial Gap during 1998-2000

(a) What step the Govenrment has taken to narrow down the financial gap?   (a) State Govt. has taken the following measures to narrow down the budget deficit, Sir :-
    1. Introduction of LOA in major departments.
    2. Prioritisation of expenditure.
    3. Curtailment of expenditure commensurate to availability of resources.
    4. Mobilisation of additional resources.
(b) To what extent the Department has ben able to narrow down the gap during 1998-99 and 1999-2000?   (b) (1) As per Reserve Bank of India Report the year 1998-99 closed with a deficit of Rs.82.72 Crores, as against the estimated budget deficit of Rs.165.21 crores.
 
    (2) The estimated budget deficit for the year 1999-2000 is Rs.213.32 Crores.

MTC Bus Depot

Financial Assistance to surrendered ALMA
