Storage of drinking water at Tura

Modernisation of the Electricity Technology

  (b) The names of the Agency is OECF (Overseas Economic Co-operation Fund), Japan. The amount availed is 1700 Million Japan Yen (Rs.54 crores).

D.C.L.P. School teachers

(a) What are the cut-off dates for calculating the length of service of D.C.L.P. School teachers for the purpose of Gratuity, pension benefits for the three Autonomous District Councils?   (a) The qualifying service for purpose of Gratuity/Pension etc. of DCLP School Teachers taken over by the Government on 2.6.94 is calculated from the date of joining.
 
(b) What is the age of supemnuation that has been extended as far as D.C.L.P. school teachers are concerned?   (b) 60 years.

 
(c) Whether all the teachers who retire after the cut-off  date as fixed by the Government shall be given all the benefits such as Gratuity, pension, Retirement benefits etc.?
 
  (c) Only those teachers who were in position as on 2.6.94 are deemed to be Government employees. Hence are entitled to Gratuity/Pension etc. However these DCLP School teachers who retire between the cut-off date and appointed date get only the benefit of Death cum - Retirement-Gratuity.

  (d) Section 22 of the Minimum Wages Act, 1948 provides for penalty for payment of Minimum Wages less than the rates of Minimum Wages fixed under the Act.
Section 22 (a) provides that (quote). Any employer who pays to any employee less than the Minimum Rates of Wages fixed for employee's class of worker less than the amount due to him under the provisions of this Act, be punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to six months or with fine which may extend to five hundred rupees, or with both ....... (unquote).

(a) Whether the Government is aware that the Tura Jail (New Jail Complex) is well equipped and properly established as per Jail Manual?   (a) Yes, Sir.

 
(b) Whether the boundary walls of the Jail Complex both for the inmates and the Staff have been erected/constructed for the safety of the staff as well for the protection from untoward incidents?   (b) For the inmates there is R.C.C. palisade wall. But there is no such wall for the staff.

 
(c) Whether facilities like proper drinking water supply medical facilities, and the staff and the proper uniforms are made available to the staff and the inmates?   (c) At present there is no proper drinking water supply due to some defects in the P.H.E. water supply system. But Medical facilities and uniforms to the staff are made available.
(d) The actual number of capacity and number of inmates at present?   (d) The capacity is 270 nos., the number of inmates at present is 99.
