Electrification

(a) The position of electrification from Riangdo to Shallang and the Villages in between?   (a) Sir, except village Umdein bearing census code No.16/3/4/166, other villages are yet to be electrified.
(b) Whether the transmission line was drawn to electricity these Villages?   (b) Transmission lie upto Village Umdein only was drawn.
 
(c) If not, the reason thereof?   (c) Due to fund constraint works were suspended.
(d) If already drawn, the total length of the line completed till date?   (d) About 4.0Km of 11 KV line from Riangdo to Umdein has been completed.
(e) The remaining length?   (e) The remaining length of 11KV line is about 31Km.
(f) When will the electrification of these Villages be completed?
 
  (f) Government is examining the the whole issue of further rural electrification work. The same will be taken up only after finalisation of the issue.

Weigh Bridges

Houseless People

  (a) Sir, the types of facilities available for the houseless people of Meghalaya, as far as the Housing Department is concerned, are given below :-
(i) Loan to the High Income Group people.
(ii) Loan to the Middle Income Group people.
(iii) Loan to the Lower Income Group people.
(iv) Loan to the Economically Weaker Section people.
(v) Grant-in-aid under Rural Housing Scheme.
(vi) Land Acquisition and Development Scheme for selling Developed plots on hire purchase.
(vii) Construction of Economically Weaker section houses for Sale on hire purchase
(viii) Economically Weaker Section/Low Income Group Loan-cum-Subsidy Scheme.
(b) Whether facilities meant for houseless people been extended in the 26-Nongkrem Constituency?   (b) Yes, Sir, except Schemes at SL. (vi) and (vii) at (a) above.

Electrification of Villages
