(a) Whether it is a fact that during the visits of the Ministers to Wahkdait and Mawlyndum villages he assured the people to set up Health Sub-centres at Wahkdait, Pomshutia and Mawlyndum villages? (a) Yes, Sir for Wahkdait and Mawlyndum Village only.


 
(b) If the answer is in the affirmative, sanctions for the said Health Sub-centres will be accorded in which financial year? (b) Proposals for sanction will be taken up during the current year, Sir.
 

Disguised Extortionists

Export of Power to Bangladesh

(b) Whether the Government Vehicles and the Rooms facilities are also being provided for the MLAs.?   (b) Yes, Sir as above.

(a) What is the latest position of the construction of disputed Hotel Crow Borough?

 
(a) Sir, the Meghalaya Tourism Development Corporation has called for pre-qualification tenders completing all projects pertaining to the Corporation. The proposal for re-starting the Crowborough Project is under scrutiny.
(b) Whether it is a fact that, Government of Meghalaya further have to pay more than Rs.2 crores to M/s. S.A. Builders of New Delhi in connection with the construction of the same even after Rs.1.3 crores has already been paid in the same connection to a private builders? (b) No, Sir, the matter is still in the Court of Law and therefore subjudice.



 

Surplus Budget

Cold Storage

(a) 95% (Approx.) of the Civil Construction works completed. Erection of machineries and Electrical fittings are also completed.

(b) What is the total amount involved?   (b) 96,13,895.00.
(c) Whether it became operational?   (c) No, Sir.
(d) If not, the reasons thereof?  

(d) (i) Cement plastering of inside wall, ceiling and 20 mm thick CC topping over insulation works on the floor yet to be completed.

   

(ii) Electrical Test Report from the Electrical Contractor yet to be received.

Dues to Police personnel

(a) Whether all eligible police personnel have been sanctioned their uniforms and othr issued materials as well as their financial dues like TA/DA, Cash-in-lieu of holidays foregone, etc., as is due to them?   (a) Yes, Sir, except the cash payment in lieu of holidays foregone.

 
(b) If not, since when have they been deprived of their dues and the reasons thereof?   (b) Cash payment in lieu of Holidays foregone has been kept in abeyance since 30.3.1998 due to fund constraints.

Vacant post of D.I. of schools

Status of Schooless Villages

All L.P. Schools granted opening permission in schooless villages will be considered for providing with a grant-in-aid @ Rs.3000/- p.m.

(a) Whether "Opening Permission" for Secondary Schools in the State have been granted by the department in the last three financial years?   (a) Yes, Sir.

 
(b) If the reply to (a) above is in the affirmative, total number of such Secondary Schools for which adhoc-grants were sanctioned/released in last three financial years?   (b) Of the schools granted opening permission during the last three Financial years, 71 schools have been sanctioned Adhoc grants.
 
(c) Whether the names of such Secondary Schools provided with adhoc grants be placed on the Table of the House?   (c) Yes, Sir. The list of these 71 schools is placed on the Table of the House.
 

Sick Tourism Department

Shifting of Police Check Gate

    In Greater Shillong area and Jowai, sugar is directly lifted by Fair Price Shop Dealers from Food Corporation of India Go-down.
    iii) Wheat is allotted directly to the Chakki Mills directly and lifted by Fair Price Shop Dealers as milled products.
    iv) S.K. Oil is lifted by Wholesale dealers appointed by Oil Companies and Sub-dealers appointed by Oil Companies and Sub-dealers appointed by Deputy Commissioner (Supply) and Sub-Divisional Officer (s).

Enquiry against the Manager, Pine Wood Hotel
