Umlei Micro Hydel Project

District Malaria Units

Mawhati P.H.C. Building

(c) If so, the reasons thereof?

 
(c) Sir, the estimate for construction of approach road to Mawhati P.H.C. have been sanctioned only during March, 2001 and steps are underway for execution of the work.
(d) Whether this PHC will be up-graded to C.H.C. in the near future? (d) No, Sir.
 
(e) If not, the reasons thereof?
 
(e) As a target of 6(Six) C.H.Cs. only had been fixed by Government of India during the 9th Plan.

Shops without Trading Licence

(a) What action Government had taken against all those shops in MTC Building who had got no Trading Licence from the Authority? (a) Sir, at present there is only one shop without Trading Licence. A notice had been served to the proprietor to stop the business.
(b) How much Government earned per annum from those who had got Trading Licence. (b) Rs.14,760.00 per annum, Sir.

   An Enquiry Officer to conduct inquiry into the points raised in the complaint petition filed by the Federation of Khasi Jaintia and Garo People Shillong, has been appointed.
(b) If so, when? (b) On 10th May, 2001.

Strike by MTDC Employees

(a) Whether it is a fact that, the MTDC employees resorted to strike for a recorded period? (a) Yes, Sir.
 
(b) If so, the reason of the strike?
 
(b) For non-fulfillment of certain demands of the Meghalaya Tourism Development Corporation Employees' Union.
(c) Whether it is also a fact that, the shed of the striking employees who were on hunger strike was broken by the police and three of such employees were arrested. (c) Yes, Sir. The shed was dismantled and four employees were removed to the Civil Hospital, Shillong by the police.
 

Check-gates

(b) If the answer to (a) above is in the negative, whether the Government is aware of the existence of illegal check-gates in the said road. (b) Yes, Sir, Government is aware that there are 2 (two) Check-gates set up by the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council and 1 (one) check-gate each by the Syiem Mylliem and the Syiem of Raid Marwet.

Old-Age Pensioners

Non-payment of Arrear Pay

(a) Whether it is a fact that 10 Nos. of Government L.P. School teachers under Dadenggiri Sub-Division who have already gone on retirement have not been paid the 'Arrear' of the extended scale of pay till their retirement?   (a) Yes, Sir.



 
(b) If so, the total amount required therefore.
 
  (b) The amount involved is Rs.2,77,019/- (Rupees two lakhs seventy seven thousand nineteen) only.
(c) The reason for non-payment of the 'arrear' in question.

 
  (c) The proposal was received in the Officer of the Director, Elementary & Mass Education form the D.I. Dadenggiri only on 12.4.2001. The same is under verification in the Directorate.

Demands of KSU/GSU

Scarcity of Cement

Cement supply from Mawmluh Cherra Cement Limited to Shillong market has been adversely affected due to the following reasons:-

(1) Breakdown of Transformed affecting cement production since 1.4.2001.
(2) Bandh/Picketing of Factor by the Khasi Students Union on 25.5.01, 28.5.01, 29.5.01, 4.6.01 and 5.6.01.
