(a) Whether the Intensive Sports and Youth Development Programme under Sports and Youth Services Sector for 1998-1999 have been implemented in Ri Bhoi District?

  (a) Yes, Sir.

 
(b) If so, when and by whom?

(c) If not, the reasons thereof?

 
 

(b) and (c). The intensive Sports and Youth Development Programme, as per guidelines which were there in force, is to be implemented by the Deputy Commissioner concerned. The funds had been placed at the disposal of the Deputy Commissioner for this purpose.

Water Supply Scheme

(b) If the reply to (a) above is in the affirmative, the name of the water supply scheme which covers these villages?   (b) Sir, the name of the Water Supply Scheme is Kumiligoan Water Supply Scheme.

Cutting of Trees

Collection of Revenue

Dismantling of Meghalaya House

(a) Whether it is a fact that the Government had decided to dismantle the existing Meghalaya House and construct a new building at Calcutta?   (a) Yes, Sir.

 
(b) If yes, for what purpose since the existing building require only renovation.

 
 

(b) Since the building is very old and unsafe for occupation which may cause great danger and loss to human lives. To undertake any major renovation work may affect the stability of the structure.

RMA Road

(b) If the reply in (a) is in affirmative, whether the work for metalling and black topping of the said left out portion of the RMA Road will be started immediately?   (b) Does not arise in view of (a) above.

Staff expansion & Creation of PHE (Electrical Circle) for GSWSS

(a) Whether it is a fact that the Committee on Public Accounts (1995-98) in its 32nd Report presented to the Assembly on 3.12.97, had recommended for a Staff expansion to maintain the  Greater Shillong Water Supply Scheme as well as the creation of a PHE Electrical Circle under S.E. at Mawphlang?

  (a) Yes, Sir.




 
(b) Whether these two recommendations of the Committee on Public Accounts have been implemented as on date?   (b) Sir, Electrical Circle has been sanctioned.

 
(c) Proposal for creation of additional staff for maintenance of G.S.W.S.S. is under examination of the Government.

(v) Hathisil Water Supply Scheme;
(vi) Goldatgre Water Supply Scheme;

 

(a) Sir, out of the 6v schemes, Teporpara w.s.s., Sonamite w.s.s, Chelipara w.s.s. and Hathisis w.s.s. have not yet been completed.
Rangapani w.s.s. and Goldatgre w.s.s. have already been completed.

 

(b) If the reply to (a) above is in the negative, the reasons thereof?
 

 

(b) Teporpara w.s.s. Sonamite w.s.s. and Chelipara w.s.s. could not be commissioned for want of power supply. Revised Estimate for Hatisil w.s.s. is in the process of sanction.

Indo-Bangla Trade Market

 Construction of Bridges

(a) Whether it is a fact that a sum of Rs.1,20,000/- (Rupees One lakh twenty thousand) only was sanctioned under E.A.S. for the construction of the Hanging Bridge/R.C.C. Bridge over Umdeitah River at Bara Rynkua in East Khasi Hills District?

(a) No, Sir.



 

(b) If so, whether the Bridge had been constructed? (b) Does not arise in view of reply to (a) above, Sir.
(c) If not, the reasons thereof?

 

(c) There is no proposal submitted by the BDOs under EAS in connection with the construction of Hanging bridge/RCC bridge over Umdeitah river, Sir.

Creation of Development Blocks

(a) Whether the  Government proposed to create some more Development Blocks in the State? (a) & (b) Sir, 7 new Blocks have been created vide Notification No.CDD.232/89/Pt/61; dtd.20-03-2001, 1(one) in each District as follows :-

(b) If so, how many and in which Districts including locations?

(i) Khadarshnong - Laitkroh C&RD Block in East Khasi Hills District with Headquarters at Laitkroh.
(ii) Mawthadraishan C&RD Block in West Khasi Hills District with headquarters at Kynshi.
(iii) Jirang C&RD Block in Ri Bhoi District with Headquarters at Jirang.
(iv) Saipung C&RD Block in Jaintia Hills District with Headquarters at Saipung.
(v) Kharkutta C&RD Block in East Garo Hills District with Headquarters at Kharkutta.
(vi) Gasuapara C&RD Block in South Garo Hills District with Headquarters at Nagrajora.
(vii) Gambegre C&RD Block in West Garo Hills District with Headquarters at Gambegre.

Amlarem Sub-Division
