Migrant Labour Act

BPL families

Nongchram Battalion Camp

(a) Whether the Nongchram Battalion Camp has been closed? (a) Yes, Sir.

(b) The Battalion personnel from Nongshram have been closed for deployment of the force in counter insurgency operations in the other areas of the West Khasi Hills District.
(c) Whether the Government will reconsider to re-open the Battalion Camp at Nongshram for the benefit of the people and the safety and security of the Meghalaya Bamboo Chip at Nongshram? (c) Government will examine the matter.

(b) Out of 458 nos. of completed schemes, 29 nos. are non-functioning due to theft of pipes in Border Areas, source dispute, drying up of source and collapse of bores for D.T.W. schemes etc.

United Songsak H.E. School

Coal Depot

(a) Whether the M.M.D.C. Coal Depot at Mawsmai is functioning as on date?   (a) No, Sir.
 
(b) What are the number of units constructed for storing coal and the proposed monthly rent for each unit?   (b) 75 Units have been constructed for storing coal. The rent has been fixed at Rs.21.50 per Sq. metre per month.
 
(c) Whether as of date any parties are using the facilities for storing coal?   (c) No, Sir.
 
(d) If not, the specific steps taken to encourage the leasees to use the facilities may kindly be stated.



 
  (d) The Government has persuaded the lessees to use the Deport. In line with this effort the lessees were allowed to pay the defaulted amount of lease rent over a period of two years. The lessees we also assured that adequate security will be provided at the Depot for smooth conduct of their trading operation.

Muster roll Labourers

MTC Bus Service

(c) Sir, presently Meghalaya Transport Corporation is having acute shortage of fleet and as such it is not in a position to introduce any new bus services on any route including bus service from Shillong to Umsiang village via Mawhati on Umsning Jagi Road Public Works Department Road. However, the matter will be considered when the fleet position improves and after due examination of the feasibility and traffic potentiality of the route.

Development of Sports and Games

T.A. Bills

Ration to Police Personnel
