Incidents of Rickets

Black Topping

(a) Whether the Government is aware of the fact that the Black-topping from the 13th to 22nd K.M. of the R.M.A., Road has not been completed?   (a) Yes, Sir.

 
(b) If so, the reasons thereof?




 
  (b) The reasons are
(i) Sanction of estimates in different phases.
(ii) Demand from villagers for raising formation for which no provision in sanctioned estimate.
(iii) Allotment of works recently in the portion 20-22nd Km.

Generation Plant

(a) Whether the MeSEB is planning to generate electricity by heavy fuel?   (a) The matter is under consideration, Sir.
 
(b) What will be the cost of production per unit?   (b) Rs.4.68 paise/unit.
(c) How long does a heavy fuel generation plant take to be set up?   (c) 18 (eighteen) months.

Helicopter Services

  (c) The Helicopter could not be stationed in Shillong for want of a permanent helipad.

Supply of Electricity

(a) Whether Industrial Units in EPIP Byrnihat depend on electricity for power?

(b) Are the Units getting enough power?

  (a) & (b). Yes, Sir. The Units which have got connections at present are getting enough power.
(c) Will the new Units coming up in the near future be supplied with enough electricity?   (c) No, Sir.
 
(d) Is there any shortfall of power foreseen?   (d) Yes, Sir.

Sufficient Power

(a) Whether Power is sufficient in Meghalaya as on date to meet requirements in the State?   (a) No, Sir.
 
(b) Is there any possibility of shortage in the coming few years?   (b) Yes, Sir.
(c) If shortage is foreseen, how is MeSEB preparing to make the shortfall?

 
  (c) Meghalaya State Electricity Board is preparing to meet the shortfall by importing power from outside the State in the short term and in the long term by addition of generating capacity.

Block Schemes

*35. Will the Minister-in-charge, C & R.D. be pleased to state :-    
(a) Whether the Government is aware of the fact that all the Block-Schemes like C.D. and C.S.S. are being implemented by the members of the B.D.C. and B.S.C. without involving the community in Dambo Rongjeng Block?   (a) Sir, the Village Community is represented in the Block Development Committee and Block Selection Committee through the members. The Schemes are implemented as per guidelines.
(b) Whether the Government is aware of the fact that all the payments are being made by the B.D.O. himself in Dambo Rongjeng Block without utilising the services of the Cashier of that Block?   (b) No, Sir.

 
(c) Whether the Government is aware of the fact that the old-age Pensions are being paid by a Gram Sevika at her residence, instead of the cashier of that Block?   (c) No, Sir.

(c) What are the benefits extended to Industries in these areas?


 
  (c) All concessions/benefits covered by the North Eastern Industries Policy of Government of India and Industrial Policy 1997 of Government of Meghalaya are extended to these industries.
