  The Government has already taken up with the Cantonment Board Authorities for consideration of allotting a plot of land for establishing a permanent Jhalupara Beat House. The area of the land requested for the purpose is 8000 Sq. ft. approximately. The matter is under consideration of the Cantonment Board Authorities.

(b) If so, which are the Departments and the reason for such 10% cut out of the Budget allocation?


 
(b) 10% cut has been imposed on Non-Plan Budget of all Departments except interest payment, pension and relief on account of natural calamities. The Cut is considered necessary due to financial constraint and difficult ways and means positions of the State, Sir.

Land Transfered Act, 1972

(b) The reasons why the Government could not make applicable the Meghalaya Land Transfer Act in its own teritorial Jurisdiction ? (b) & (c)
      The Land transfer Act was enacted in 1971 after due consideration of all factors considered relevant at that point of time. Amendment as required are considered by Government from time to time.
(c) Whether Government is planning to review its provisions and amend it accordingly ?

When will such construction works be started and expect to be completed?





 
  (c) The works for construction of approach road started in the month of January, 2004and expected to be completed shortly. The work for construction of raw water pumping system, laying of raw water gravity feeder main and construction of clear water pumping system including appurtenant works all complete is yet to be started. The expected date of completion is October, 2006.
