Water Supply

The average water pumped daily into the pipeline of the Greater Shillong Water Supply Scheme at the starting point at Mawphlang?

 

Sir, the Greater Shillong Water Supply Scheme was designed to cater to the needs of all the enroute villages including Mawphlang besides Shillong City. On the average about 6.5 MGD is pumped from the lake for treatment before supply is made. Efforts are being made continuously to reduce the water losses under this scheme.

(b)

Whether the same quantum of water is being received in Shillong?

 

(c)

If not, whether there is any manipulated leakage enroute?

 

(d)

Will the Department cause an enquiry into the factors leading to loss of water enroute?

 

Bidder for execution of APDRP Scheme

Creation of Employment

Will the Chief Minister, be pleased to state the steps taken by the government to create employment to un-employed youth in the State?


One of the main objectives of development planning in the State is the creation of employment opportunities, specially to the unemployed youth in the State. Accordingly, specific schemes and programmes have been drawn up by number of Department for employment generation.



The State Government has also constituted the Meghalaya Resource and Employment Generation Council with a view to access the prospects of employment generations and other related issues in the State.
