Will the Minister in-charge, Public Works (Roads) be pleased to state:-

 

(a)

Whether the PWD is aware of the fact that there is frequent accident at 31/2 Mile Upper Shillong, causing heavy traffic Jams and posing a threat to the live of many pedestrian?

(a) There have been frequent minor accidents in this location of road from chainage 85285m to chainage 85415m as the curve is very sharp and usually vehicles are plying at high speed.

(b)

The width of the road at National.

(b) The width of the road pavement in between chainage 85285m to 85415m, is 6.10m and the total width including side berm is 7.00m.

(c)

If the answer to (a) above is in the affirmative, the action proposed to be taken?

(c) The Department has already submitted one estimate to the Government of India, MORTH for improvement of the curves.

Whether it is a fact that the right to Information Bill will be implemented in the State?

(a) Yes, Sir. The Right to Information Act, 2005 is implemented in the State.

(b)

If so, the salient features of the Act?

(b) The salient features of the Right to Information Act, 2005 is placed on the Table of the House, Sir.

Will the Minister in-charge, Community & Rural Development be pleased to state:-

 

(a)

Whether it is a fact that the BDO Laitkroh 12 Shnong always by-pass the technical staff of the block in terms of construction and payment.

(a) No, Sir. The Blocks Development Officer, Khatar-shnong Laitkroh Development Block has informed that from the inception of a scheme till the final payment, advice and consultation with technical officials is duly made.

(b)

If so, the reasons thereof?

(b) Does not arise in view of the above.

(c)

The number of Tours/Joint inspections of the project taken by the BDO and the technical staff during 2004-05?

(c) Three tours of major works were jointly carried out.
